Cambodia visa requirements

The visa for Cambodia can be acquired relatively easily and there aren’t many requirements. Read the requirements, to avoid setbacks. It is especially important to choose a location where your visa is accepted when entering Cambodia, and that your passport is valid for long enough.

Only if you meet all the requirements on this page will you be allowed into Cambodia with your visa. Even after acquiring the visa you need to keep these requirements in mind.

Entering not possible everywhere

The most important Cambodia visa requirements concern the permitted border control points and airports that work with the new visa system. This isn’t yet the case everywhere, make sure that you a book flight that arrives at one of the locations below, or that you pass a border crossing which can be found in the list below. Exiting is possible virtually anywhere.

Entering at a different location

Do you want to enter the country at a different location? Then you need to make a transfer on Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville of Siem Reap to meet the Cambodia visa requirements. An alternative possibility is applying for a visa in the form of a passport sticker, at the Cambodia embassy. That variant has other requirements, including the possibility to also arrive at other airports. A passport sticker is more expensive and you need to make a round trip to the embassy. Passport requirements

A number of requirements are also tied to the passport if you want to make use of the visa for Cambodia. First of all, the passport needs to be valid for eat least 6 more months from the moment you land in Cambodia or pass the border. Secondly, the passport number must match the number you fill in when applying for your visa. That doesn’t just mean that you can’t make a mistake when writing down the passport details, but also that you don’t acquire a new passport after granting a visa, for example if the last one isn’t valid for long enough. If you still want to do that, you also need to apply for a new Cambodia visa.

Requirements regarding validity

Naturally, you cannot stay in Cambodia for longer than the requirements set to the validity term of the Cambodia visa. The validity term is 90 days, within which you can enter the country a single time and stay for 30 consecutive days.

With the Cambodia visa requirements, the availability of certain documents also needs to be kept in mind, both when applying and when travelling.

When applying

When you start the Cambodia visa application it is important that you possess a scan of the information page of the passport of each traveller for whom you are submitting an application. Secondly, you need to possess a recent passport photo (likewise for each traveller). It is not necessary to go a photographer for this; you can also take a digital photo yourself.

When travelling

While travelling, you naturally need to have your passport at hand. You also need to print the Cambodia visa in twofold and carry it with you on your trip.
